- UPDATE (12/13 1:30pm eastern):
As I have seen submissions come in, it has helped me to better verbalize what I am looking for, and pitfalls I have had in trying to do this on my own. I want people to know that I can do everything - recommend and sell the equipment, wire the home, connect everything up, integrate all the components and content together from different sources (streaming, DVD, cable, etc). In the industry, what I do is called “Custom Integration” but that means nothing to the consumer, so wouldn’t make sense here. I needs something more approachable.
Some words and phrases I have tried that I don’t think work:
-entertainment/home entertainment – I amm concerned that it will be construed as performance art (magician, singer, etc).
-Solution - sounds too technical
- systems – too technical
-----------
I have recently started a business, Home Theater Advisors, in which I sell and install home entertainment equipment in NY, NY (Manhattan only) - TVs, receivers, surround sound, home networking, internet devices (AppleTV, Roku, etc). I need a compelling, descriptive tagline that will convey what the business is all about and that encourages the potential customer to pick up the phone and call for a free consultation. I currently use "custom home entertainment solutions", which is too boring. The tagline should:
1. Convey what the business is all about – getting the most out of your home entertainment dollar with easy to use solutions. Clients can call us and we will walk through what their needs are, options that fit the bill, things they may not have thought of (streaming music to their stereo), and how we can help them. We will come up with solutions that work for their budget and their lifestyle. Solutions that will look great, sound great and be unintrusive
2. Convey competence, but be compelling and exciting – this is a business that people should be excited about – they are putting in entertainment equipment. Note: I’m not even sure ‘entertainment equipment’ is the right terminology, but I don’t want to sound too high end by saying ‘Home Theater” because then people picture dedicated media rooms (and it’s already in the business name)
My differentiator: I am my customer. I have a background as a professional. I live in Manhattan and know the issues apartment dwellers deal with in regards to setting up a home system – small rooms, not a lot of space, living room serves many purposes, and choosing the right contractor. Many of my customers have children (as do I) so I know some of the unique needs they have – ease of use, durability, content. I can even program a remote control that works through the walls so the parent can push one button on the remote at 6am when their 2 year old wakes up that will turn on the LR TV, put it on the kids favorite channel and turn down the volume.
Do not feel too limited by the word restriction below. If you need more words, 6-7 is OK.
