- We are about to launch a company that will provide a web-based platform for digital microscopy. The platform is mainly a software-as-a-service, cloud computing application, but can also be installed locally. Users access gigapixel images of biological samples in a manner similar to google map. The interface can be a desktop computer, a laptop, a tablet or giant-size mutlitouch displays. Highly magnified images of biological samples, tissue and cells can be viewed, managed and analyzed using this "webmicroscope", panned and zoomed to thousandfold magnification.
