- First off, I suggest logging on to KitchenPC.com and taking a quick look around. You can logon with your Facebook account in a single click. Use the Calendar, shopping list and "Meal Planner" features.
The site is geared towards building and working with meal plans. The goal of the site is "Meal Planning Made Easy!"
During the early days of the project, we were planning on building these things into a hardware device you'd have in your kitchen, thus the name KitchenPC really stuck. However, the site has evolved away from that mission and thus is in need of a new name.
A typical customer might be a busy mom who hates coming home and not knowing what to make the kids for dinner. The solution to this problem is to allow users to find a meal plan for the week, print out a shopping list all at once, and go grocery shopping on Sunday to buy everything they need for the week. However, we also want to offer pre-built meal plans for certain diets, people on a budget, certain styles of dishes, vegetarians, etc.
I'm a fan of names that convey a business purpose and an emotion. People should know what the site does when they hear it. I've been thinking of some ideas that combine two words that share a ending and starting sound. For example, "Recipe" and "Easy" could be combined into "Recipeasy", which I think is an excellent name, but I'm not sure if I want to pay the $2,600 price tag the domain name carries. One of my business advisors really likes the name "DinnerZing!" - I do like the word Zing, but the name doesn't relate to planning and meals or recipes. DinnerZing might be a service that shows up at your house and brings you food. Keep the phrase "Meal Planning Made Easy" in your head when thinking up names.
