    Big Orange Marine moves boats. Sailboats. Powerboats. Big Boats. Small Boats.

    We move them over land. We put them into the water in the Spring and take them back out again in the Fall.

    We carefully load them on our special trailers and truck them from your house to the boat ramp where we launch them.

    We move your new boat that you just bought in Maine to your dock in Florida.

    We are Orange because no one else is. Our trailers are orange as part of our branding. Everyone else in the business uses black. We STAND OUT. (Yeah, I know. In the picture with the sailboat on it, the trailer is blue. That's one of my trailers, and it's not powerful ORANGE.)

    Orange is a power color. It also stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. Lady Luck's color is orange.

    With all this talk of power, please understand that we are caring, compassionate people. We want to excel at our job. We really want to go sailing, but we have to earn a living, so we move people's boats! We LOVE the water. We LOVE boats. We we LOVE people.

    Our web site (BigOrangeMarine.com) is under development, and so you can't go there to look at any information. Sorry. I don't know if you can contact me through this site, but I am happy to answer any questions if you can.

    By the way, I'd prefer to receive the winning logo in a vector-based file that can be opened by Adobe Illustrator. It's not a deal-breaker, but this would be a big plus.

    and yes it is the same, all you have done is added the worst curve above it, copywriting is bad, and if the contest holder has to brand his stuff with something like that he will be prosecuted.

    So just cough up and tell the truth, and dont steal, be original.

    BTW contest holder, search Boat Logo's in google images, and you will see ;)

    Thinking out of the box, there. Definitely different, and I appreciate that.

    Tomorrow, I'm going to start sitting down with my advisors and getting their input. I've already spoken to one person, and he liked two that were not on my favorite list at all!

    With 169336 - 169339, eldiario is going more in the direction I want - I'm liking the circle around the sailboat. This is a big improvement on a what was already a good idea. And it's still very simple, only now it's unique. There will be times when it will be used on lighter backgrounds, or even white, so I'll have to feel comfortable that it works that way, too.

    Some of the other entries are feeling a little too cartooney for my application. That's not to say they're not good, because they certainly are. Just perhaps not what I'm looking for. That said, I will be enlisting the opinions of others, and I'm easily swayed if opinions are all against me.

    .... just to be clear - I don't own trailers like the one shown in image 169246. My trailer is shown in the document I uploaded with the contest instructions. My trailer will not lend itself very well to having a logo attached to it, but my truck certainly will.

    I'm making most of my comments public to help designers zero in on what I like.

    I didn't rate {rep_no}169246 because it's one of the submitter's images placed on a truck. Instead, I rated the original image.

    3Design - all of your logos were good - I rated {rep_no}169243 higher than the others purely because I liked the type better, but that is a quick judgement that could easily change. I liked your boat image - I am a sail boat person myself, but most of my customers are likely to be powerboaters, so perhaps a powerboat is more appropriate than a sailboat? That's a call I will make later.

    Certainly, I want an image that is instantly recognizable even without the words, as I would expect it to be used like that some times.

    {rep_no}168006 is my favorite so far because it s very clean and simple looking (and that is not to dis-repsect the designer because I do know that simple is usually harder than complex!)

    It would also work well with or without the text, which can certanly be a plus.

    I know that my business name contains the word orange, but I'm more getting at the house color than the fruit. That's not to say that the fruit can't be included; just that it's not my preference.

    I intend to keep an open mind as this contest continues, and I thank you all very much for your hard work.
