  • Additional Details

We allow users to find and book a hotel room over messaging (whatsapp, SMS, FB Messenger, Slack). The user will find us and initiate a chat just as they would a friend. Our half-bot half-human agent would chat with the user asking questions (city, dates, budget) and eventually presenting options (hotel name, details, price, pictures). If the user sees a hotel they like, we would send them a secure booking form where they can enter their credit card and complete the booking. We are starting with hotels - but will move within a year to include flights, cars, vacation packages - so lets think of Travel as a whole. We want the user to feel like they are chatting with a smart and trustworthy friend who knows the city, and will always find them the best hotel at the best price. Although some of the messages will be auto generated by a 'bot/algorithm' - the user should always feel like they are talking to a human. If we had to list the most important characteristics of the service we are providing in order, it would be: 1 - Trust 2a - Smart/Thorough 2b - Deal finder/Seeker 3 - Friendly Competitors: http://lolatravel.com https://pana.com https://www.usehyper.com In a way: Siri is also a competitor. Other things we think about in an ideal name: - Gender neutral (can skew female) - Could be a persons name or a made up word - Easy to spell and pronounce internationally as we will be going global. - Short (1-2 syllables). Palindrome or Homonyms could work. - A name that has a travel word baked into it like expedia (expedite) or orbitz (orbit) would be great Here is the great article from Rich Barton (CEO and Founder of Expedia) on picking a name: http://hopperanddropper.com/syllables-scrabble-letters-and-picking-brand-names/ In terms of the URL / domain name - we can probably just add travel.com to the end of it if we cannot get the .com... ie. COMPANYNAMEtravel.com
