  • Detailed Brief
  • Acabiz is an innovative Web 2.0 company running a web-based knowledge sharing platform (www.acabiz.com). The platform allows Knowledge Hunters ( corporates, governmental / non-governmental organisations and private individuals) to access a large network of Knowledge Holders, comprising leading academics in their respective fields, whose niche knowledge can help addressing the Knowledge Hunters' continuous business challenges. (more information can be found on www.acabiz.com)
We need a simple and short animation video (in English - no more than 60 seconds) which will be posted on Acabiz homepage explaining a) what the website does b) how it works c) who are the two classes of users. The short animation should be to the point if only slightly entertaining (i.e. serious but not overly boring)

The following points should emerge in the video:

    1) Acabiz's knowledge holders are Academics

    2) Acabiz's knowledge hunters are mainly corporates but also governmental and non-governmental organisations

    3) Acabiz brings clear advantadges to both classes of users (academics and corporates): see p. 6 of the attached pdf

To provide some further guidance, this is for example a video which we like (although ours should be 1 minute or less): http://www.dropbox.com/

Dear JackWilkerson, starting from the fact that we do not like abusive and incorrect comments about our context, please have a look at the work that boonana just submitted, as it is "bang on target".

You will see that (as we indicated via our comments several times) it is not just a sequence of "slides" with messages which are already present on the web-site but an independetly thought-through animation, which clearly explain what Acabiz is and how it works.

    Best Regards,

    The Acabiz Team

I have deleted my entries since people want to copy me. You seem to like them even though they copied mine. If you did not want to pay someone you should have not started a contest. Like we all don't know that Evin is the contest holder. They only have one entry and that is this contest. I hope you do the right thing and pick Ritz as the winner. I will not enter anymore.

Thanks for submitting your entry. Feedback:

    1) The music has to change - it makes it look like a movie intro

    2) It is almost impossible to read the text (even if you put the video on hold - which is clearly not the intention)

    3) The text is impossibile to read as it moves far too quickly

    4) No one can understand what Acabiz is or does through the video

    5) It needs some level of creativity - all the text is taken from our sources only.

    Best Regards,

    The Acabiz Team

From the snippet I think the "style" as such could work - just one thing to bear in mind: the video should be entrataining but also remain reasonably "business-like".

Look forward to receiving your entry.

    Many thanks,

We strongly prefer an animation video (rather that simple static pages with a voice-over).

    Many thanks

Dear all, please look and use our web-site (www.acabiz.com) to understand who we are and what / how we do it.

This will help you in your videos.

Dear Ritz, many thanks for your entry.

    Technical feedback:

    1) 0:40 - Knowledge Holder is incorrect - Knowlegde Hunter should be the subject of the sentence.

    2) You finish by saying Acabiz has several advantadges for both classes of users; but what are they?

    3) 0:37 - you say Acabiz Knowledge Holders are Academics - you should mentioned this before.

    4) 0:21 - instead of "corporations", better to us "SMEs, larger companies as well as governmental and non-governmental organisations" (then no need to repeat the concept later)

    In general:

    1) The video lacks creativity - both in the images you use and in the text (which is taken word by word from what contained in the material which we attached)

    2) The images you use to match the voice-over should be a more thoughful and visual (sometimes it is unclear why they are there)

    3) What we are looking for is an animation (not a collection of static pages)

Any more questions, just let us know

    Many thanks
  • Feedback - CameronVanDerhoof's video

Dear CameronVanDerhoof, thanks for your submission. In terms of "technical feedback":

    1) The voice-over is a bit too fast and difficult to understand

    2) The concepts are not explained in logical order (a listener finds it hard to follow and understand what Acabiz does); for example, in the video, you need to explain who Knowledge Hunters are before mentioning the word.

    3) Final message should not be phone number (we are a Web 2.0 service) but rather something along the lines of "register and start using Acabiz"

In terms of "general feedback", what we are looking for is not just a "text voice-over" with some pictures; rather. we are looking for a well-thought through 1 minute (or whereabout) video which clearly explain what Acabiz is and what it does (without be overly-boring, so some creativity needs to flow into it).

For example of a video we have in mind, please look at http://www.dropbox.com/ (which introduces the problem/concept (with words and good graphic associated) and then explains the product (Dropbox, in this case), also explaining how dropbox works).

If any additional questions, please let us know

    Many thanks

Dear yoshomie, many thanks for your entry. Presentationally, video design needs to be more "slick". The video alsoneeds to be much more "engaging" . In terms of the contents, the below points should clearly transpire through the video message:

    1) Acabiz's knowledge holders are Academics

    2) Acabiz's knowledge hunters are mainly corporates but also governmental and non-governmental organisations

    3) Acabiz brings clear advantages to both classes of users (academics and corporates): see p. 6 of the attached pdf

Happy to provide any additional feedback.

    Many thanks
