  • We are looking at a brand name ( can be any lenght)for our product which should be:
    -be distinctive, relevant and fit for purpose
    -be contemporary and timeless
    -Must have good recall value
    -assist accurate communication of your product
    -be attractive to discerning customers who value the highest quality
    -compare with established global fashion brands
    -be rooted in European language (order of preference is Italian/french/English )
    -be suitable as a trade mark across all intended territories or atleast support a domain name registration.
    -avoid conflicts or infringements

    When I mean rooted in a Europeon language I mean the name should reflect the country for instance a Brook Brothers is from UK, Brioni is from Italy,Charvet is from france...the name could be a name of a place, a family name,etc too, but the domain should be available

    I got an interesting name called " Mayde and Kraft, which seems to be signature name for "MADE and crafted". It perfectly descibes my shirt which has great crafmanship and also sounds british...Taksh, great job. Can I have more submission like this

    Dear Contestants,

    I had asked for a brand name of europeon origin: Italian/French/British...

    I received maximum Italian, but when I am trying to check the website availability of my shortlist or checking for trademark name availabilty...I had to give up on most of the names I have shortlisted. Because even a name which is similar sounding like an existing brand or trade mark will not be entertained for trademark company registration.

    However I appreciate all the hard work of the contestants so far and have requested sqaudhelp team to extend the contest, as I want to give it another try. Once they extend the contest, I shall guarantee the contest.

    So far the brand focus was PEZ ARO and Italian luxurius brand. Owing to the difficulty I have mentioned above, I have some new thaught to shift the brand to British background.

    Which will mean...

    Our brand represents Savile Row or Jermyn Street Shirt makers of London, who made shirts for Churchill, Price of Charles, etc. They make ready to wear shirts and made to measure shirts. But the ready to wear preserves the traditional tailoring methods of making with high end craftmanship. This is given a designer twist by some high end fashion designers and lauched as a braind in all the british colonies like India, singapore, and some other pparts of the world.

    The brand should relate to aristrocacy and luxurios customer profiles who have taste for traditional hand crafted and designer shirts with savile row or Jermyn street finish and craftmanship.

    The name should be original, with a story to it and a registrable website.Kindly request sumbission of formal names and not names which sound casual. I am open to family names, first name and second name, an expreesion or adjective which describes the brand( but name should be registrable)- Pls check on godaddy before submission.

    Also kindly refrain from names which look similar to existing brand as there will be trade mark registration problms.

    Looking forward from all with real and true BRITISH BACKGROUND names only. Thanks again

The space in between makes it a short form of a name calles Pez and PEZ ARO in totality seems like a first name and a second name. And it has a italian origin as PEZARO is a family name from ITALY. Request all contestants to submit entires after checking if dotcom and dotIT is available and refrain from using names similar to existing brands. I sugguest do also a google search with the name to check if their are nay existing brand with the same or similar sounding names.

    Firstly many thanks for all your ideas and submissions. Unfortunately I could not choose any so far as my QA check of my short list showed names already taken by websites(dotcom and dotit) or names sounding too similar too existing brands which could have issues of infringements and possiblities of trade mark rejections.

    I SQUADHELP team as considered to extend my contest for another 3 days so expecting so new thaughts from all...

    A new thaught which came to me is enclosed...

    As I dont have a Italian background and family name of my own, it may be difficult to relate it to my brand. So consultant suggests I create a character for instance PEZ ARO. Pezaro is a family name too originating from Italy.PEZ could be the short name of a luxirous man, and I potray him what he wears to work regularly, for corporate board meetings, for cock tail dinners(may be tuxedos), candle light dinner, yatch sailing, driving high end automobiles, etc.

    But unfortunately pezaro.com is taken, though the dotcom is available.

    I any of you can suggest any new ideas around this idea it will be great. Short names are in...and will have good mnemonic/recall value. Eg PEZ, but PEZARO is also a family name, it sounds originally italian

    Just thaught I need to give some direction to the thaughts coming in after my previous comment...


    To clarify that when I mean names based on attributes( OPTION 1), I meant personified version of the feelings I mentioned. To illustrate witha few egs COGNAC speaks of highly quality and peoples favoirite, Zues- A greek God who is stroing and personifies being brave and majestic,DIAMOND- which is desirable and most precious, NILE- the longest river. I am not looking at translations or adjectives in english or any other language for the words I mentioned. Also I dont want the shirt to contain names like***line, *****shirt, *****buttons or any other part of the shirt in the name.

    The (OPTION 1)name should be unique and disctinctive, easy to promounce for recall value and must speak of either of quality/luxury/strength/ exclusivity or be a (OPTION 2)name of person or family name or a combination of the two which is stylish and registrable as a domain name...

    Some of the names are also very good for casual wear but not suitable for formal clothing.

    My personal choises of other lables under OPTION 2 name choice are ZARA, Ralph Lauren,LORENZINI, ARMANI, CAMESSI, ZODIAC, ARROW, PETER ENGLAND, BRIONI,PURPLE LABEL,Ermenegildo Zegna ,THOMAS PINK, BROOK BROTHERS. All these names speak of origin of france, italy or england.

    These thaughts of mine are only suggestive,but additional thaugths are welcome.

    I also wanted to throw out some directions to consider along with your own native creative ideas:


    - Names based on concepts of a person's name(masculine), family name,name of a place, river, building or any other thing which sounds stylish and sound strong and formal with a good recall value. Can be upto 2 words

    - Names based on attributes / feelings like greatness, richness. excellent, marvelous,beauty,majestic, savvy, cutting-edge, desirable, quality,exclusivity, modern.

    The label will be sold in high end retail stores accross the intended territories and not just online

    I'm not saying that these are what I want to steer you towards versus the names submitted so far, I'm just offering these as additional thoughts to stimulate your own creativity.

    Also request all contributors to mention the meaning/references of the name submitted too.
