A new brewing company needs a name worth making famous! Thank you for taking the time to consider us! Together, we can build something great. BUSINESS OVERVIEW: The four cornerstones of the business: awesome beer, personal connections, convenience, great design. We usually describe ourselves as the “cupcake bakery of beer.†We are a place of community and fellowship for everyone through awesome beer. Everything we sell, we brew on premise. Everything that we brew on premise gets sold at retail to the end consumer from that site. Other than shelf stable snacks, there is no food. Our major focus is on selling beer-to-go in growlers (a growler is a refillable beer jug) with a secondary focus of selling beer for on-premise consumption in pints and sampling flights (a flight is like a sample platter, you get small amounts of many different beer styles all at once). BRAND TONE: * Masculine * Modern and functional, yet personal * Earthly and sustainable, but not too hippy – to include materials: brick walls, wood, etc * More like a brewery than a retail boutique – we’re bringing the brewing process out front and encouraging the customer’s engagement * The customer is smart * Rejoice in the occurrences of the everyday * We are your friend and neighbor NAMES WILL BE JUDGED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: * Memorable * Easy to spell and pronounce * Visual (e.g. “Appleâ€) is preferred, though we also like Meaningless (e.g. Potbelly, Nike) * Positive Connotation (e.g. “Dad†is positive, “Father†is neutral) * Brevity * Scalability (we have every intention of making this a household name, so the pressure’s on!) * We’re a “brick and mortar†brewery, so it should sound like it (and not like a tech company) Note: Please DO NOT use any word that may imply a flavor. Examples include: Apple, Rotten Tomato, Hops, etc. Also, we will be adding the term “brewery†or “brewing company†to the end. (e.g. Revolution Brewing Company). 10/5/11 UPDATE: Wow! A lot of great stuff already! Some of the ideas that I like so far are using some of these elements: * Putting the word "brewing" or "brewery" in front of the brand name (e.g. The Brewing Republic) * Building off the ideas of relationship as appose to being overly product centric (e.g. Back Porch is a relationship brand, Foamers is a product focused brand) Also, as food for thought, Craft Beer drinkers tend to me fans of complex humor (such as irony). Thanks everyone!
